What makes an objective SMART
Specific (who and what), Measurable (a number and a tool), Achievable (realistic for your capacity), Relevant (tied to the need you described), and Time-bound (a date). The most common problem reviewers flag isn’t missing letters: it’s objectives that count activity (“serve 200 youth”) instead of change (“60% of participants improve…”). Those are outputs. Keep them, but pair them with outcome objectives.
The checker looks for patterns, so it can’t judge whether a target is realistic. Read goals and objectives and build the chain in a logic model.
